Crash Landing

Sosa

This piece depicts a whimsical moon crashing into a meteor. It was fired using the a Japanese clay firing technique called Raku. I added copper wiring and beads to the crash site as support for the moon and to add movement to the piece. The moon is removable and rattles. I wanted this piece to be interactive so I tried to create as much texture, movement and sound as possible.
